De automobilist was onderweg vanuit Glimmen richting Haren. Omstanders laten weten dat de bestuurder op een gegeven moment uit moest wijken voor \u2018iets dat de weg overstak\u2019. Door deze uitwijkmanoeuvre raakte de auto eerst een stoeprand om vervolgens op een boom te botsen en tot stilstand te komen. In eerste instantie dacht men dat de inzittenden bekneld waren komen te zitten waarop de brandweer van Haren gealarmeerd werd. Van een beknelling was uiteindelijk geen sprake. Drie ambulances en verschillende politiewagens kwamen ter plaatse om eerste hulp te verlenen. De drie gewonden werden nadat ze gestabiliseerd waren overgebracht naar het ziekenhuis. Wat de aard van hun verwondingen is, is onbekend.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Vanwege het ongeval en de onderzoek van de politie was de Rijksstraatweg enige tijd afgesloten.
